Today Tab Ads Creation Highlights
1. Today tab ads are created using the material resources entered by the developer in App Store Connect, and will display the App name, icon and subtitle. At the same time, Today tab ads use the custom product page as the click landing page, and the material resources in the custom page selected by the developer will be dynamically displayed in the background of the ads, and the color of the icon of the app will be unified.
2. Once you have set up and approved a qualified custom product page in App Store Connect, you can begin creating Today tab campaigns in Apple Ads Advanced. If a developer has set up multiple custom product pages in App Store Connect, they can choose which custom product page to use as the click landing page and ad background when creating a campaign.
3. The new Today tab ads in mainland China will run on iPhone devices using iOS 17.1 and later. Different ad formats (app icon, name, and subtitle only) will be displayed on iPhone devices using iOS 16.4 through iOS 17.0. Today tab ads will not run on devices using iOS 16.3 or lower, nor will they run on iPad.
Once a campaign is created, ads are automatically submitted for approval.Apple Ads will review the App icon, name, subtitle, and custom product page material resources to ensure that they meet the Today Tab ad guidelines.
Also, if an App icon, name, subtitle, and custom product page stock footage resource has already been approved for a Today Tag Page campaign within the same Apple Ads account, it does not need to be re-submitted for approval for subsequent campaigns in the same country or region unless it has been updated in App Store Connect or a stock footage license file needs to be submitted for the custom product page in order for it to comply with the Today Tag Page guidelines. product pages in order to run ads in mainland China, unless the above is updated in App Store Connect or a material license file is submitted for a customized product page.

I. App icons, names, subtitles and custom product page material resources must not contain violent, offensive, pornographic content, or other inappropriate content. It is prohibited to use images that contain guns, weapons or bloody and violent content.

II. Customized product pages used must be localized in the default language of the country or region where the campaign is placed.

No pricing, offers, rankings, or other incentivized promotions may be included in the App icon, name, subtitle, or custom product page material resources. App rankings and App incentive claims are also not allowed.

App name and subtitle must match the language of the country or region where the campaign is set to run.

The phrases "Today's Game" and "Today's App" may not be used in the App icon, name, subtitle or customized product page material resources.

App names, icons, subheadings, and custom product page footage resources must comply with Apple's advertising policies.

Know the status of your ads

Enabled: The ad has been approved and is running.

Ad in Review: Your App icon, name, subtitle, custom product page material resources and material license file (if applicable) are still awaiting review and the ad is in Pending status.

Custom Product Page Incompatibility: The ad is in Pending status because the Custom Product Page selected for it contains material resources that are incompatible with the country or region in which the ad group is placed. An ad may also be in Pending status if the custom page material resource is only available for iPad, because Today tab ads can only be served on iPhone devices.

Custom Product Page Deactivated: The ad is in Pending status because the Custom Product Page selected for it has been deactivated in App Store Connect.

Ad Content Rejected: The ad cannot be placed because the app icon, name, subtitle, or custom product page material resource does not meet the Today Tab advertising guidelines or does not comply with Apple's advertising policies.

Custom Product Page Deleted: If the custom product page you selected is deleted in App Store Connect, your ad won't run.

Documentation Issues: The ad is in Pending status because the campaign is set to run in mainland China and requires a material authorization file, or one or more screenshots from the selected Custom Product Page caused the material authorization file to be rejected.

Suspended: The ad has been suspended by you.

Pending: The ad is in pending status for a variety of reasons.
